The passenger terminal at Belfast International Airport is located on two floors - the upper floor for departing passengers and the lower floor for arriving passengers.

Facilities for departing passengers include cash machines, currency exchange, airport information, Business Lounge, baby change facilities and an excellent range of shops and restaurants for all your holiday extras.

A visitor information desk is located in the arrivals hall for all domestic and international arriving passengers, providing information on visitor attractions, onward travel and accommodation.

Currency exchange for international arriving passengers can be found in the international baggage reclaim area and car hire desks can also be found in the domestic arrivals area.

Belfast International Airport is working in collaboration with local leading diagnostics firm RANDOX to provide convenient, efficient and cost-effective COVID-19 tests for passengers who require them. RANDOX are able to offer pre-departure COVID-19 PCR tests at their facility located at the Maldron Hotel on site at Belfast International Airport.

Many destinations now require passengers to provide a negative COVID-19 test on arrival. The type of test required varies depending on the destination, however usually it is necessary to take the test at least 48-72 hours before arrival at your destination. 

Belfast International Airport is working in collaboration with RANDOX to provide convenient, efficient and cost-effective pre-departure COVID-19 tests for passengers who require them for essential travel.

In addition to RANDOX’s testing clinics in Crumlin and Holywood, a new facility has been set up at the Maldron Hotel at Belfast International Airport.

The service and price of your test includes FREE Parking located within the Maldron Hotel facility.

How does the process work?

3: Your test is carried out by a qualified sample collection officer and next day results sent via email

When selecting your appointment you must ensure you check with your airline and final destination whether your time frame for having a negative COVID-19 result is before your departure date and time or your arrival date and time.

The PCR test costs £85 and results are given next day. 

This includes the test being carried out by a qualified sample collection officer and analysed in RANDOX’s COVID-19 testing laboratories in Antrim.

If there are several members of your group and you require multiple tests, appointments will need to be booked separately.

Once your appointment has been booked and you have received your confirmation, simply arrive at the testing facility at the Maldron Hotel, Belfast International with your booking confirmation and passport, at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment.

A trained sample collection officer will carry out your test and the sample will be sent to RANDOX’s COVID-19 laboratories.

You will receive your certificate via email the day following your appointment. The certificate will state that your test was RT-PCR – which is universally recognised as the gold standard.

Once you have parked at the hotel proceed to The RANDOX Travel Centre, located at Car Park D, where a trained sample officer will take you through the procedure”

  When instructed, you will be called forward for your test. They will give you some instructions and talk you through the process. When they do the swab, samples will be taken from your throat and then your nose. 

Please avoid eating for an hour or two prior to testing and bring a bottle of water in case you would like a drink after your swab.
