The Department for Transport has mandated that all UK airports are required to install 3D scanning technology by June 2024.  This new equipment will provide security staff with clear three-dimensional images of the contents of passengers’ bags and provide passengers with an improved security screening experience

In order to accommodate these new scanners the airport is embarking on an extension to the current terminal building which will improve and enhance the customer experience at security.

The extension will be located adjacent to the front of the existing terminal building over two floors.

We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience while the building work takes place.
