Business was brisk at the airport stand at the Holiday World event in Belfast at the weekend.
Business Development Director, Uel Hoey, summed it up saying: “It was a phenomenal response to our presence after an absence of a few years."
The airport was promoting the full range of holiday destinations it serves alongside Olympic, Balkan Holidays and Virgin Holidays. Next to the airport ‘showcase’, Jet2, which now serves eighteen destinations, also attracted massive interest.
Uel added: “This was well worth the effort. We were inundated on Saturday and Sunday when hundreds, if not thousands, of would-be customers sought advice, some guidance and, of course, prices.
“A wide range of holiday packages was on offer. Destinations in the United States, Italy, Malta, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Cyprus whetted the appetite, and many people booked on the spot.
“The travel trade was well represented with Oasis Travel, Knock Travel, Clubworld and Travel Solutions all taking bookings.
“As the main airport in Northern Ireland, it was important to have a presence at Holiday World and to set out the extensive network we serve. Holiday-makers have wonderful choice from right here, on their own doorstep.”
The airport also promoted car parking facilities at attractive rates and the full range of retail and food facilities on offer in the Terminal.
