BAFTA winner touches down at Belfast International

9 Feb 2015

It’s not often we get the opportunity to welcome a BAFTA winner at Belfast International but, this afternoon, we welcomed Ronan Blaney fresh from his win at the awards in the Royal Opera House, London.

Clutching the BAFTA trophy at the awards ceremony, the ‘Boogaloo and Graham’ team, Brian J Falconer, Michael Lennox and Ronan Blaney, made special mention of Northern Ireland, saying:

“We’re so proud to be from Northern Ireland, especially at this time when the film industry is going so, so well.”

‘Boogaloo and Graham’, which won the BAFTA Short Film Category, tells the story of two young boys who learn about life with the help of their pet chickens.

The film is also an Oscar nominee.

Ronan was met at Domestic Arrivals by his three daughters, Rebecca, Rachel and Hannah, and was interviewed by Maggie Taggart of BBC Newsline.
