Role Overview:

Being part of Team JD you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive the best possible service each time they visit your store. You will assist in maximising store profitability by exceeding your sales targets and utilising the in-store devices, while contributing to a successful store team.

Customer Service

  • Greet all customers in a warm, genuine and friendly manner.
  • Ensure that customers receive the best possible service every time that they enter a JD store.
  • Understand the process of the Mystery Shopper programme


  • Drive sales, ensuring that targets are achieved and, where possible, exceeded.
  • Utilise the in-store devices, offering the customer the whole product range
  • Provide alternatives and add on sales at every opportunity.

Visual Merchandising

  • Assist in the maintenance of standards on the shop floor and for all displays and merchandise.
  • Keep stock, clean and presentable at all times.
  • Replenish stock levels when needed, making sure the full size range is on the shop floor where possible.


  • To deputize for other staff, work within departments, or carry out other duties as required.
  • Represent JD Sports in the most professional manner at all times.
  • Conduct your work in a safe and responsible manner

Operations Assistant

Reports To: Business Supervisor Operations

Hours of Work: 15 hours per week  (3 x 5 hour shifts), including weekend and bank holiday cover (according to the business needs)

Purpose: To assist receiving the deliveries, stock taking, stock checks, pricing products and replenishment of goods to the shop floor.

Duties & Responsibilities:          

  • Assist in un/loading stock from deliveries to and from the warehouse
  • Storing products in allocated locations in the warehouse/back shop/shop stock rooms
  • Stock rotation by date in the warehouse to eliminate shrinkage
  • Assist in the delivery of stock to the shop on a daily basis
  • Disposing of all waste products in line with the Airport Authority guidelines
  • Pricing products for the shop floor
  • Picking  stock for shop floor deliveries
  • Ensuring the bonded warehouse is clean and clear of rubbish for a safe working environment
  • Assist in stock takes as and when required
  • Any ad hoc duties


  • This role will involve a significant amount of heavy lifting/manual labour, a good level of fitness is required.

Sales Supervisor

  • 37.5 hours per week. Our store opens at 4am until 22.00 (approx. subject to last flight)
  • Shift pattern is on a rotational basis of 2 early shifts, 2 late shifts and 2 days off.

Various other positions available in store:

  • 1 x 30 hours - Shift pattern for 30 hours are on a rotational basis of 2 early shifts, 2 late shifts and 2 days off. 
  • 1 x  22.5 hours - Shift pattern for 22.5 hours is 2/3 days per week. Flexibility essential.
  • 1 x 15 hours per week - Shift pattern for 15 hours is 2/3 days per week. Flexibility essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To provide an efficient and professional service to all customers.
  • To demonstrate a high standard of product knowledge and the ability to interpret and respond to different customer needs in order to maximise sales.
  • To maintain high shop floor standards and presentation, with particular reference to full replenishment, good housekeeping and strong promotional displays and visual merchandising.
  • To be involved in receiving stock deliveries as and when required.
  • To operate the till, and handle payment in an efficient and accurate manner, maintaining security and ensuring till variances do not exceed Shop/Brand targets.
  • To ensure security of stock at all times in line with Shop/Bond till stock loss targets.
  • To work effectively with, and treat all team members with dignity and respect without discrimination in line with the company policy.
  • To participate in stock taking of the shop floor/Bond as and when required.
  • To undertake any other duties within your competence as business needs required, including cover for other Aelia colleagues in times of absence and understaffing.
