Third place for Belfast Airport Barista

Kate Crozier from Belfast International Airport scooped third place at the SSP UK Barista Championship title for 2013.
SSP is the leading dedicated provider of food and beverage brands in travel locations, operating restaurants, bars, cafés, food courts, lounges and convenience stores in airports, train stations, motorway service stations and other leisure locations.
Beating off competition from over 250 baristas from some of the best-known brands in SSP UK including Caffè Ritazza , Upper Crust and Millie’s Cookies to secure a place in the final. This took place in front of a live audience at Dickens Inn, London.
Kate impressed the judges with four perfectly made espressos, cappuccinos and a signature drink.
Graziano Moroni, National Coffee Specialist at SSP UK, has developed the internal competition over a number of years to reward and recognise barista talent within the company. ‘The standard of this event has been increasing every year, and we were enormously impressed by the talent on display,’ he said. ‘At SSP, we serve over twenty million cups of coffee every year, and we recognise the importance of getting it right across our brand portfolio.
Matteo Pavoni, from the Bonapartes coffee shop at London’s Charing Cross station took first prize with Mamun Abdullah (from London Euston Station) taking second place.
