Hurtigruten launches Northern Lights cruise from BELFAST Airport

For many, seeing the Northern Lights is a ‘must do’ on their wish list, and thanks to Hurtigruten, it just got even easier for the people of Northern Ireland to fulfill this once-in-a-lifetime dream. A new one-off charter flight has been launched on 24 February 2013 direct from Belfast Airport to Tromso that ties in with a six-day voyage in Norway, entirely above the Arctic Circle, where the Northern Lights are regularly spotted during the winter months. This is the first time Hurtigruten has offered its holidays with flights direct from Belfast and it is expected to sell out fast so early booking is recommended.

The voyage is a six-day trip from Tromso to Kirkenes in the far north of Norway, just a few miles from the Russian boarder and back. There is no better way to experience the Northern Lights than by sailing through the sheltered coastal waters of Norway, on board a Hurtigruten ship as the Northern Lights are set against a dark sky, free from artificial light.

In addition, throughout the six days, a wide range of winter activities can be enjoyed with everything from snowmobiling and husky dog sledging to a trip to North Cape or a visit to the Kirkenes Snow Hotel.

ARCTIC HIGHLIGHTS VOYAGE – from £1115 per person including direct return flights from Belfast Airport to Tromso, three night’s half board on the ship, two night’s in a centrally located Tromso hotel with breakfast, transfers and taxes. Based on two sharing. 24 February 2013 only.
