Belfast International Airport has congratulated the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce on winning the British Chambers of Commerce 'Chamber of the Year' accolade in London.
The airport has been an official Patron of the Chamber and has just agreed to extend its arrangement until 2015.
Reacting to the award, John Doran, Belfast International Airport Managing Director, said: "This is a signal honour for a Chamber that has made an immense contribution to the business life of Northern Ireland, and to the innovative and progressive way in which it manages and represents its members.
"Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, Ann McGregor, and her team are to be heartily congratulated on their outstanding achievement.
"The Chamber has been proactive on real and current economic issues such as the need to remove Air Passenger Duty (APD) on long-haul flights and Northern Ireland access to Heathrow. It has also championed greater international connectivity and supported greater choice of affordable direct access from Northern Ireland with easyJet.
"The small but highly motivated and dedicated team richly deserve this national recognition. Being a Patron of the Chamber has given us an insight into how focused and committed the organisation is, and the professional manner in which it goes about representing the membership and tackling the big economic issues we face".
