SUMMER SALES SOAR FOR LOCAL TOUR OPERATOR

Falcon Holidays reveal holiday bookings are up 15% year on year

Local tour operator Falcon Holidays has revealed that summer holiday sales for 2012 in Northern Ireland are up 15 per cent year on year.

This positive news comes hot on the heels of a recent Falcon poll which reported that 98 per cent of people surveyed across Ireland both North and South plan to take a holiday abroad this year.

Christine Donnelly of Falcon Holidays is hopeful that the increase in bookings and the positive survey results indicate a rise in consumer confidence and real boost for the package holiday industry.

“We are naturally delighted that Falcon summer bookings are up this year,” said Christine.  “Our recent survey results revealed that even in today’s economic climate people still need to take a break from their hectic lifestyles and it is great to see that these finding are now reflected in our booking figures.

“January is always a busy booking period as many people like to beat the new year blues by booking a summer holiday that they can immediately start looking forward to, and we try to make it easier for them to do this with a range of discounts, free places and other special offers for people who book early,” she added.

“We are delighted to see that 38% of this growth is in our unique Holiday Villages and SplashWorld Resorts. Our customers are continually looking for value for money and 69% of this growth is in all inclusive holidays, where they can manage their budget in advance. It’s also very reassuring that 65% of the growth is customers returning to the age old favourite destinations of Spain and the Balearic islands.”

“Not only does this show a willingness amongst Northern Ireland holidaymakers to go on holiday this summer, continued Christine.  “It shows a confidence in booking with an established package holiday operator like Falcon, with whom they know that their holiday is properly bonded and that, most importantly, their money is safe and secure.  Never has this been so important.”

Christine concluded, “Although it’s early days yet, it is great to see positivity back in the marketplace in Northern Ireland.”
