Published: 17 October 2011

Local Lisburn team Crewe United has gone continental and signed Monsieur Loic Bouchard from Nice, France.

Councillor Thomas Beckett and Mr Tom McKenna greeted Loic when he recently arrived at Belfast International Airport on the direct Nice  - Belfast service with easyJet.

Councillor Thomas Beckett, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee, speaking about Crewe United, said: “It is great news that Crewe United has attracted the interest of a young overseas player and subsequently signed him up to play for the team in upcoming important games.

“Though it is no surprise that the interest in Crewe United has extended outside of Northern Ireland; as over the past 50 years it has invested in the development of the grounds and today Crewe Park is the envy of many more senior clubs.”

Loic has been on the youth team books of AS Monaco and AS Cannes playing predominantly as a midfielder and he hopes to make an impression following his arrival.
